Anna’s ‘Shove Some Chocolate in My Face’ Chocolate

Anyone able to relate to how Anna confesses her love of chocolate while simultaneously hoping to find true love? We all know it’s standing right in front of her…in the form of chocolate! I mean, love is great an all, but chocolate, is well, chocolate. It’s pretty hard to beat chocolate.

Can I say something crazy? As a kid I didn’t even like plain chocolate! I know, CRAZY. Don’t worry, at last I’ve seen the light and it’s like a fog has lifted. (Okay, sorry, wrong movie!)

Seriously though, Anna had things right when she was talking about how she wanted to shove some chocolate in her face. Don’t we all want to do that? I mean, when something is so good, it’s hard to act civilized when eating it.

The good news? With these tasty chocolate morsels, you don’t really have to be civilized if you don’t want to be. Let’s face it, in our house, with two young kids, we hardly ever eat civilized. It’s kinda like a survival of the fittest over here. If you want to eat you need to do so when the opportunity presents itself and do so quickly. You can’t wait for things to be perfect or for the chaos to calm down. If you do odds are you won’t be eating. Someone else will snatch whatever you had intended for your belly and put it straight into their own.

Let’s say you live in a house like mine. You know you’ve got to move quickly. Do yourself a favor and whip yourself up a batch of these and then devour them as quickly as possible. I have a feeling you won’t regret doing so.

Without further ado, here is Anna’s ‘Shove Some Chocolate in My Face’ Chocolate treats:

Supplies

1-2 c. of Chocolate Chips

10-20 Hersey Kisses, Unwrapped

or 10-20 Rolos, Unwrapped (These Ones Even Come Unwrapped!)

20-40 Waffle Style Pretzels/Pretzel Snaps

Teal Sanding Sugar

Waxed Paper

Cookie Sheet

Parchment Paper

Oven (:))

1. Step One

Gather up all your supplies! If you have Rolos or Hersey Kisses with the wrappers on them, now is the time to remove them. If you have a preschooler in your home, this is a great activity for them to complete. Or, go ahead a ‘splurge’ on the bag of already unwrapped Rolos. Amazon carries them right here and it’s so worth it! Lay a piece of parchment paper on your cookie sheet and a sheet of waxed paper on the counter. Set the oven to 250°F.

2. Step Two

Setup the pretzels in neat straight rows and top each one with a Hersey Kiss or Rolo. Pop them in pre-heated oven to back for 3 minutes. The candy will look shiny and a little melted. You don’t want the candy completely melted and pooled over onto the cookie sheet, so just until they are nicely softened is perfect. Take the cookie sheet out from the oven and place another pretzel on top of each pretzel-candy set. Work quickly so the candy doesn’t have a chance to cool. If the candy cools too quickly the pretzels won’t stick together.

3. Step Three

Once the pretzel-candy-pretzel sandwiches are set, let’s move onto more chocolate! Pour your chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave. Work in 20-30 second waves, stirring between each set to ensure the chocolate doesn’t burn.

4. Step Four

Now that you have melted chocolate and cooled pretzel sandwiches, it’s time to dip the sandwiches into the chocolate. Place the sandwich into the chocolate and submerge with a fork, covering the sandwich completely with chocolate. Using the fork pull the pretzel sandwich out and ‘drain’ off the extra chocolate. I know this sounds crazy, but less is actually more in this situation. Place the pretzels onto the prepared waxed paper.

5. Step Five

To add a little ‘Elsa’ touch to the pretzels, let the pretzels partially cool and then add a pinch of teal sanding sugar to the tops. If you add the sugar while the pretzels are too warm the sugar will melt and it will be hard to see the blue color.

Conclusion for Anna’s ‘Shove Some Chocolate In My Face’ Chocolate Treat

There ya’ go! A super simple and relatively quick chocolate-y treat that Anna would approve of! I wonder if Frozen 2 will feature any chocolate? I feel like we should write to the writers to let them know it should be a big part of the movie! Anyone disagree?
