Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course: Transportation Options

One of the best things about staying at a Walt Disney World Resort is the ability to hop on the public transportation provided by Walt Disney World.

Making your way around Disney on its complimentary transportation is relatively straightforward, but being able to figure out how to get to the less popular Disney attractions takes a little more planning. These include other Disney hotels, minigolf attractions, and, sometimes, even the waterparks. If you wanted, yes you could skip the Disney transportation altogether to get to these destinations. However, considering, in our family at least, we feel like the Disney transportation methods are ‘rides’ in their own right, being able to use them to reach a less popular attraction is half the fun!

One of our favorite less popular places to explore on our Walt Disney World vacations are the minigolf courses. Specifically, we are fans of Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf Course. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf Course resides between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Walt Disney World Swan, Swan Reserve and Dolphin Hotels.

Getting to Disney’s Hollywood Studios In Order to Arrive at Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course

Regardless of what Walt Disney World resort you are staying at, your first step in getting to Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf Course is to head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You won’t actually need to enter the park itself, but need to arrive at its front gates.

A majority of resorts will offer you transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios via bus, but a few offer the recently opened Disney Skyliner as transportation. Certain resorts, such as Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riveria resort offer direct and almost direct services to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

From Disney’s Caribbean beach you have a straight shot, no transfers are necessary. The boarding area for the Disney Skyliner is in the back area of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. There usually is only a short wait before loading into your own gondola and you begin flying high over the trees. Riveria only requires one quick transfer after boarding your initial Skyliner.

Arriving at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Once you arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, disembark from the Disney Skyliner and make your way over to the front of the park. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you have a couple of options to complete your journey over to Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course. Either completing the journey by foot or on a leisurely ‘river cruise’.

If you decide you would like to use additional Walt Disney World transportation, head over to the loading dock of the Walt Disney World Friendship Boats.

The boats are located to the right of the entrance gates to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Walk towards the main gates and then head to right, following the railing along the water. The Friendship Boats are able to transport guests from Disney’s Hollywood Studios over to Epcot and all the Epcot area resorts.

Keep in mind, that the boats do have a maximum total number of individuals they can have onboard their ship. If you see a boat heading towards the doc at Hollywood Studios, it might not be your ship. Check out the length of the line, lots of people means you’re going to be waiting for the next boat. Loading and unloading, especially due to guests with strollers and/or wheelchairs, can mean extra waiting time.

Boat Ride to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels

Once on the boat, find a seat, kick back and relax. It’s not a super long trip, but also not a super-fast trip. It makes it a perfect moment to just rest your feet before heading over to more magic. Keep your eyes peeled as you head along though so you don’t miss your stop. The stop you will want to look for is the stop at the Swan and Dolphin resorts. Your captain will make the announcement but look for the hotels with the giant swans and ‘fish’ on top. They are the symbols of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resorts.

Walking to Disney’s Fantasia Garden’s Minature Golf Course After Your Boat Ride

From there you will disembark and start your walk over to Disney’s Fantasia Garden’s Miniature Golf Course. There will be signs to follow as you walk between the two hotels and then head towards the left behind the Swan hotel. Keep following the signs and you will end up at the Fantasia Garden’s Minature Golf Course.

Walking From Hollywood Studios

While the Friendship Boats are a great way to get over to Disney’s Fantasia Garden’s Miniature Golf Course, there are other options. There is the time for loading up all the guests, time for docking and undocking, and multiple stops along the route. If you want to sit back and relax, then, by all means, hop on a Friendship Boat and make your way down the waterway.

However, if you want to keep moving, maybe consider walking over to Disney’s Fantasia Garden’s Miniature Golf Course from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Our favorite way to walk over to the golf course is by following the walkway from Hollywood Studios along the way to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and then hanging a left to the Swan and Dolphin.

You’ll spend a lot of time walking along the water as you approach the Boardwalk Hotel’s pool on the right. Keep walking until you get to the bridge. The bridge gives allows you to swing over to the Swan and Dolphin resorts. Once again look for the signs directing you to Disney’s Fantasia Garden’s Minature Golf Course. You’ll walk by the pool that is between the Swan and Dolphin resorts and over Epcot Resorts Boulevard, arriving at your destination.

How Long Will the Trip to Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course Take?

Time is of the essence on a Walt Disney World vacation. However, if you have a slower day, journeying over to Disney’s Fantasia Garden’s Miniature Golf course might just want you needed. Either way, the whole trip can take about an hour or so to complete. It’s best to plan for an hour, possibly more, if you have a tight schedule.

Pro Tip: Know that you most likely need a reservation for Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course. Be sure to call the mini-golf course at (407) 560-4870 to make a reservation.

If you want to skip Disney transportation altogether, give Uber a call. Or, if you want something still Disney, but more of a direct trip over to the course, consider booking a Walt Disney World Minnie Van. These options will cost you money as they are not free, but the direct line and comfort might be worth it for you. Again, it all might come back to how much time you have during your day!
