I have a quick confession to make. I haven’t been able to see the new Mary Poppins movie yet. Ahh! I know! I hope this doesn’t discredit me as a Disney fan. Truth be told, with the littles at home, it’s really tricky to be able to make it out to see the new flicks. The new Mary Poppins Returns is still high on the list of ones to catch!
In the meantime, in order to bring a little Poppins magic into our home and a little love during the month of February, we put together a little Mary Poppins inspired smoothie. We, of course, decked it all out with all the flourishes. In a way, it adds a little magic, just like Mary Poppins would!
Plus, we called it a smoothie, so it would be fitting for little ones who are working on growing up big and strong. ‘Cause smoothies are healthy, y’all. I guess be sure to leave off all the extras if you want to stick to that last part about being healthy… Or leave it, as that is where we get the name inspiration for the ‘spoonful of sugar’.
Disney-Inspired Mary Poppins Spoon-Full-of-Sugar Smoothie
Two Bananas (Frozen Preferred, if you don’t have frozen on hand, be sure to add in a handful of ice cubes)
Powdered Peanut Butter (Add to Taste or Substitute in Regular Creamy Peanut Butter)
Graham Crackers (About 1-2)
Almond Milk
Whipped Cream
Red Sprinkles
1. Step One
Gather all your ingredients. As with all my smoothies, you definitely have some flexibility. If you opt to not include the graham cracker, that is definitely okay. They do help to differentiate this smoothie from other smoothies. Plus, it does help this smoothie stand out and be your special ‘Mary Poppins’ smoothie. I’d say give them a try!
2. Step Two
Throw the frozen bananas (or ice cubes if not frozen), graham crackers, and powdered peanut butter (or regular) into your blender. Cover all the ingredients with milk. Blend away!
3. Step Three
If you want to get a little creative (and who doesn’t!), add in some extra flair to your smoothie. Grab the whipped cream and give yourself a healthy dollop (yes, I went a little over board!) Then add some extra details like sprinkles (red for Valentine’s Day!) and candy!
4. Step Four
Now, grab the chalk and draw yourself a magical place, as would happen in Mary Poppins. Close your eyes and read, set, jump! Oh, don’t forget your smoothie. Do you think it can make it through the magical chalk porthole? Even more importantly, are there even chalk drawings in the new Mary Poppins movie?
There ya go! A Disney-Inspired Mary Poppins Spoonful-of-Sugar Smoothie to help bring a little fun into your day!
