Do I Recommend Eating Here?
Yes, we actually love this restaurant!
As a family that Tends to eat a more vegan, whole foods plant-based diet, Pecos Bill is a good fit for us. They have a nice selection of entrees that can be made vegan or at least vegetarian. Therefore, we don’t feel like we are stuck with just one option.
Plus, the food is usually done relatively quickly. Since time is of the essence at Walt Disney World, we try not to spend a ton of time on our meals. Instead, we like to allow for a generous amount of time for one meal, keeping the time down for our second meal. For example, if we plan a trip to Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park then we are probably grabbing a veggie burger at Restaurantosaurus for our second meal.
Please keep in mind we don’t have experiences eating the meat options off the menu. Therefore, we can’t say whether or not we would recommend it, obviously. Yet, all the toppings we had on top of our beans and rice were tasty. Plus, the rice was really tasty!
Now, it should be noted that the food is quick-service food. Therefore, it’s not the ‘finest’ that Disney has to offer. Yet, it hits the spot and is just what we need on a busy park day. If you’re looking for something a little fancier and more upscale, then this might not be the best choice for you.

Both our kids, ages 5 and 2, approved Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. Mexican is usually a pretty easy sell with them as they can pick the toppings for their meals, leaving off what they find ‘yucky’. Plus, they are always excited about the possibility of tortillas and chips. You can never go wrong with tortillas and chips!
The ability to be able to customize a meal at Pecos Bill’s helps sell our kids as well. They like being able to pick and chose what goes onto their plates.
Alternative Uses for the Restaurant
You would think a restaurant would only be good for providing guests with food. This would be an accurate statement for a majority of Pecos Bill’s open hours. However, when a Disney parade is coming down the street, it also doubles as a good place to catch the show.
Seating isn’t the greatest on the restaurant side of the street, but just across the way, you can catch some great views of the parades. We’ve watched both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween-Party parade both around Pecos Bill’s restaurant. Be sure to arrive early though for the best seats!
Just a word of caution as well, you can’t sit on the ‘stone’ walls surrounding the Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. Cast members will have you get down before you can even say ‘Mickey Mouse’.
