Is anyone else super excited for the upcoming release in the live action Dumbo the Flying elephant movie in March 2019? I know my boys and I all are! We are big fans of the original animated Dumbo movie.
The movie makes me feel mixed emotions, however. I always get sad at the beginning with poor Dumbo’s mom. She’s just trying to protect her baby! Then, in the end, I’m like yessss, you go Dumbo! Way to soar!
Sorry for the spoiler if you haven’t had a chance to see the original Dumbo in the last 77 or so years…
To help celebrate the new movie coming out, my boys and I decided to put together a little crazy milkshake (slash smoothie). We went a little light on the toppings this time, but a little crazier with the ingredients. Well, my son proclaimed we were wacky! Without further ado, here is the kid ‘completion’ friendly milkshake (smoothie) inspired by Disney’s upcoming Dumbo the Flying Elephant live action movie.
Disney-Inspired Dumbo the Flying Elephant Smoothie
2 Bananas (Frozen Preferred, Add Ice Cubes if Not Frozen)
Ice Cream (Optional: Vanilla works best)
Graham Crackers (Crushed for Easier Blending)
Cinnamon (Just a Dash)
Peanut Butter (2 Tablespoons or More to Taste. I use a LOT.)
Circus Themed Candy Decor and Frosting! (If you want to decorate the outside of your smoothie glass)
1. Step 1
First things, first. Gather all your ingredients. If you have extra time before to freeze the bananas. Don’t have time to freeze the bananas, but you are including ice cream? You’ll be all set. If you don’t plan to include ice cream, but sure to throw a few ice cubes into the mix.
2. Step 2
Throw the bananas, ice cream (optional), graham crackers, animal crackers, peanut butter, dash of cinnamon all into the blender. If you don’t have frozen bananas, be sure to add in a few ice cubes. Again, if you plan to add the ice cream, add it now, but leave the ice cubes out.
3. Step 3
If you plan to decorate the outside of your glass, be sure to do so before you add your smoothie. It’s a lot trickier to add decorations after your drink has been added. Spread a little frosting on the rim of you glass and stick animal crackers, graham cracker crumbs, peanuts (yes!) or (in this case) pez to the rim. If you want, you can also add some whipped cream after you add your drink to your cup. We opted to not add whipped cream to this crazy smoothie. Mostly because we ran out…
4. Step Four
5. Step Five
Enjoy! Pour your smoothie/milkshake into your (optionally) pre-decorated glass and enjoy your drink!! Then kick-back relax and turn on the 1941 Dumbo the Flying Elephant classic. Time to get ready for the live action movie coming out soon!
There ya go! A quick smoothie to help you welcome the upcoming Dumbo the Flying Elephant live action movie. Quick side note, can anyone remember where they were the first time they saw the animated version of Dumbo the Flying Elephant? I can’t. Ha! But, honestly, I am curious as to where fellow Disney lovers might have been. Leave a comment if you remember where you were or even how old you were!
