It’s the realization that hits me when I first walk into the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. My feet start walking towards Adventureland and deposit me directly in front of Aloha Isle. Sometimes this happens before I even realize where I am going.

I look up and there it is the Pineapple Dole Whip.

A Cast Member asks me what I want and all I can do is point in order to keep the drool from dropping out of my mouth and all over the counter. That sweet, sweet pineapple soft-serve is placed in my hands and I know what I’ve been missing all my days.

Okay, maybe it’s not that crazy dramatic and I don’t have (that much) drool coming out of my mouth before ordering. Yet, it really does feel like I’ve finally made it ‘home’ once that delicious non-dairy dessert is placed in my hands.

If you’ve never had one, you’re probably thinking I might have a few too many screws loose and you’re thinking it about high tailing it out of here. While the screws loose point is debatable, don’t run off yet.

If you don’t know much about a Dole Whip, you’re probably curious and would like to learn a little more about this frozen fantasy. So, stick around for a little bit and learn everything there is to learn about the famous Dole Whip treat featured in Walt Disney World. What is a Dole Whip at Disney World?

The classic Pineapple Dole Whip is a soft-serve dessert that is served on Walt Disney World property. The Dole Whip has a cult following and might be up there as one of the most iconic Disney World desserts. While I’d love to say that Dole Whips are exclusive to Walt Disney World parks, they are not. Yet, I think it is a fact that they do indeed taste more magical when you are on Disney property. The research is still pending on this detail, but I’m pretty sure it can be backed up by science.

Where Can I Get Dole Whip in the Magic Kingdom?

The Pineapple Dole Whip can be found in several places throughout Walt Disney World. The most well-known spot is inside of the Magic Kingdom. Aloha Isle a counter-service snack location is the home to the Pineapple Dole Whip. Located in the back right of Adventureland, Aloha Isle is tucked next to the Enchanted Tiki Room and right behind the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. One of the more ‘tropical’ places in the parks, it seems fitting to eat a Dole Whip while immersed in Adventureland.

Variations of the Pineapple Dole Whip, including a swirl, float, and soft-serve topped pineapple upside-down cake can also be purchased at this location. The Pineapple Dole Whip Epcot can be found at two locations in this futuristic park. One of the locations is seasonal, coming only during the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. Served at the Pineapple Promenade, the Pineapple Dole Whip can be purchased for park guests enjoy during a festival day at Epcot. Alternatively, the Pineapple Dole Whip can be found in Epcot’s World Showcase at the Refreshment Port.

The Polynesian Resort

The Pineapple Dole Whip can also be found outside of the Disney parks! The most popular spot is the Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian resort. The lines at the Pineapple Lanai are never long and the Pineapple Dole Whip is just as delicious.

Plus, because the Pineapple Lanai is located right outside the lobby of the Polynesian Resort, you can duck back inside once you have your treat. Anyone who has experienced the intense Florida heat knows the ability to be in the air conditioning is going to save your dessert! You might actually be able to eat your entire Pineapple Dole Whip before it turns into pineapple soup!

While the Dole Whip soft-serve swirl can NOT be found at Disney’s Art of Animation resort, a delicious pineapple ‘smoothie’ of sorts can be found. It doesn’t fall into the classic Pineapple Dole Whip category, but considering how fast a cup of Pineapple Dole Whip melts in the hot Florida sun, it’s worth mentioning this drink. If you know you’re ordering a treat on the hottest day of the year, just order it in smoothie form at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. You’ll save yourself the melting of a Dole Whip!

Speaking of a Dole Whip Float, this little beauty is the best of both worlds when you’re hot but also super thirsty. Complete with a base of pineapple juice and then topped with Pineapple Dole Whip, the Dope Whip Float might be your new favorite. At Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom, you can get a raspberry Dole Whip float in addition to the Pineapple Dole Whip flavor.

Unfortunately, the pineapple Dole Whip is not made from only pineapples and water. If you’d prefer just to acknowledge the fact that the Pineapple Dole Whip is gluten-free and vegan, just skip this section. The ingredients for the Pineapple Dole Whip are as follows:

The website does not specify the Dole Whip size it is referring to when it lists the nutrition information. However, the Dole Whip product is served to vendors based on 4 oz serving size quantities. Therefore, it might be safe to assume the above details are the nutritional facts for a 4 oz serving.

Yes, there is a lot of sugar in a small serving, but, if you’re going to eat ‘ice cream’, this is going to be one of the better choices for you. Just follow it up with a few carrot sticks and pieces of broccoli. All about balance, right? Therefore, in the world of soft-serve ice cream, it definitely ‘wins the race’ as it features no fat, no cholesterol, and no animal products.

Be cautious though if you are on a strict diet. While Cast Members are trained to serve a specific amount of soft serve, the servings aren’t weighed. Your serving might be a little bigger or smaller than advertised. Be sure to ask a Cast Member if you need an exact carb or sugar count, or any specific nutritional information.
